Shadowen from his home. Shadowen reported that on his way to town he met an automobile driving without lights which increased its speed sharply after he had met it. No knowing the exact nature of the trouble down town he did not bother to stop the car. It is thought that the auto contained the fleeing bandits.Investigation at the wholesale house showed that the burglars were engaged in sawing the bars for entry into the building when their labors were interrupted by the arrival of the night police. It was probably their intention to get in and open the door from the inside and either load a truck of their own or else load the company truck and take it with them. Entry had not been gained and of course nothing was stolen. In their hasty departure they left their burglar tools behind and they are now in the possession of the police.The announcement in the St. Louis papers that an abandoned automobile containing the body of an unidentified man had been found at the\YEiPiBjBlt;WHiViStPIHiUA (tourist camp east of Nashville Wed- ‘ nesday morning, lead many people here to believe that Killion, like the' Royal Mounted, had got his man.The dead man had been shot three j times, once in the top of the head and twice in the body. Apparently he had been shot while in his shirt] sleeves and his coat had been put on him afterward. His vest was found! lying in the bottom of the car.1The car containing the body was a black Chrysler sedan that had been driven about 900 miles. It had noDlicense plates and identification is being attempted through the engine number.
