NTENCETHE PENWilliam Shelly And Frank O’Neil Are BothGiven Terms In The State Penal Institution By Judge CameronWilliam Shelly and Frank O’Neil were both given penitentary sentences by Judge Cameron Friday afternoon. Indictments were returnedagainst both by the grand jury which has completed its sessions.Shelly was sentenced 2 and 1.2 years in the state penal institution. The indictment returned against him was assault with intent to rob. Last May Shelly in company with twro com panions held up George Geiger at a point on the Holgate Pike. Geigeroroved too fast for the would-be-rob-bers and knocked three of them from .he wagon. The other two madetheir escape but Shelly was captured./».s a gun was pointed at Geiger and w'ent off grazing his arm the offenseIs a very serious one.Shelly said that he was twentyyears of age and that his home was in Ft. Wayne. He said that he fellin with his two partners at Toledo and wras intoxicated at the time that he assisted in holding up Geiger. Judge Cameron could have given him a fifteen year sentence under the cir. cumstances but refrained from doing so because of his youth.Frank O’Neil, aged 23, was sentenced to one year in the state institution.O'Neil ,last summer stole a box of shoes from a Wabash car and attempt ed to dispose of them in the city. He was arrested by chief Hubbard. The indictment returned against him was for grand larceny.1
