It is understood that some of the participants in the Tuesday night affair have excused themselves by saying that ‘‘there is nothing to do in Huron.” The presumed logic of such an excuse is that if the city fails to provide “something to do.” the youngsters will be justified in finding “something to do elsewhere.From the evidence at the party site, it would appear that what some of the ring leaders of the kids wanted was to have facilities for group, teen-age coeducational smoking, drinking, the viewing of obscenities and sex. No. Huron doesn't provide such a facilitv. Nor does anv commu* nitv. And when a community does, it is time to drop the 50-megaton bomb on it.It is not too difficult to believe that a few- youngsters might go for such a set-up as there was at the farm. There are alwayswa few such kids, just as there are some such adults. The unbelievable part is that so many other youngsters would follow such leadership. Maybe the majority just vent to watch the fire, maybe thev didn't spe what else may have been going on or what was in the barn.
