Nolan and Hugo F. Chestosky, Steubenville law partners.Both Nolan and Chestosky, who were formally retained by Richet-ti’s family yesterday to represent the accused man who is being held under heavy bond in the Columbiana county jail at Lisbon, will go to Columbus Thursday to represent their client at the hearing on extradition papers forwarded to Governor George White by Missouri authorities.The hearing before the governor was originally scheduled for toddy but was postponed until 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the request of the defense attorneys, who said they have not yet had time to examine the Missouri documents charging Richetti with the slayings of Sergeant Ben Booth, a state policeman, and Sheriff Roger Wilson in Columbia, Mo,, last July 14. After the postponement was announced, Major L. M. Means, representing the western state, returned to Missouri for further instructions. Should Governor White sign the extradition papers, a hearing on the extradition requisition would then be held in common pleas court at Lisbon either next Saturday or the folIoMnJ^onday, it was indi: cated. Nolan talked to Richetti briefly yesterday. *In a statement issued by Attorney Nolan, relative to his firm's participation in the case, he said: “We were retained to represent Richetti by his sister, brother and two half-brothers. We have interviewed Richetti only briefly, but are satisfied of his innocence.” Richetti was arrested near Wells-ville a week ago Saturday, two days before “Pretty Boy” Floyd was shot down near East Liverpool by federal agents. Later both meri were identified by H. J. Merkle, Tiltonsville, as the pair who robbed the Peoples bank of Tiltonsville of $500 on October 19. Concerning the charges against him in Missouri, Richetti argues he was not in or near Columbia when the fatal shootings occurred, and also claims that Floyd and he had nothing to do with the Tiltonsville robbery.
