BURTON ADMITS PART IN KILLINGImplicates Two Others In Slaving Two Years Ago* n ©Near LucasvilleA confession was made by Joseph Burton, implicating himself and two others in the murder of his brother, William Burton, west of Lucasvilie two years ago tolt;lay, county officers announced today.Joseph Burton named Grover Doss, 4S, as the gun user and named Mrs. Mary Burton, 00, widow of William Burton, as one of the plotters of tire crime, according to theconfession. Both Mrs. Burton and Dos* are being held in the county jail in connection with the slaying. ......A “blood pact” between Burton arid Doss, never to reveal the jdans for the murder, was described by Burton.Pricked Their Anns“Doss and I lists! Doss' knife to prick our left arms until tlie blood flowed,” the prisoner said. “We held each other’s right hands and promised never to tell the plans as long as there was air in our bodies.” Burton exhaled and said : ”1 guess all the air is out of my body now. and 1 won’t he violating the pact if 1 talk.While Mrs. Burton admits portions of Burton’s statements, she denies part of the plot, but promised to tell a complete story, the officers said.Doss at one time named Burton as the gun user and later deuied implication.
