Several small boys bad gained access to tlit* cabin and secured a double-barrel muzzle-loader with which they proceeded to play “Indian.’' The piece, which was thought unloaded was leveled at Bernard Cuider, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Cuider, by his older brother, Francis, and discharged. The load struck one of the arms of the youth, badly shattering it, while iabout a dozen shot lodged in his liver.| The youngsters, including Francis Guider, Linas Healey, his small sister and Frances Kilgariff, displayed great presence of mind in carrying the wounded hoy down the hill-side through wire fences and underbrush to the residence of I)r. Thornton, where first aid was rendered and from whence he was hurried to the Wati-kon hospital. His condition at first seemed precarious and little hope was entertained for his recovery, but later developments have shown Improvement with a possible chance of recovery,—Waukon Democrat.
