Ex-coroner pleads guiltyBy Tamara SharmanThe web of federal investigations that snared Robert Tezak continues to grow and may trap others, a federal source saidTuesday.Multimillionaire Tezak is a former Will County coroner and was considered a kingmaker in county Republican politics.An investigation of other individuals rose out of the federal investigations that culminated in Tezak pleading guilty Monday to federal charges, said Jerry Singer, a special agent with the U.S. Bureau of Ahcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.“Other allegations have come up against other individuals and are being investigated, Singer said.Those allegations, which are part of an active investigation, involve political corruption, drug trafficking, arson and one homicide, according to Singer.He would not comment on whether Tezak was cooperating with the federal investigation.On Monday morning, the once-influential Tezak stood in a federal court -See TEZAK, Page A-4
