Candace Mossier DiesMIAMI BEACH (UPI) - Candace Mossier Garrison, acquitted in 1966 of tlje death of her millionaire husband in one of the most sensational murder trials of the decade, died in her sleep Tuesday in her suite in the Fontainebleau Hotel. She was 55.CThe medical examiner’s office said the cause of death was not known, but nb foul play was suspected. A spokesman at the hotel would say only that tyrs. Garrison died Tuesday morning.; Walter Fries, president of the down-*e •Conservationists Rate SenateiI n\a/ On ir\/ja\/town Central National Bank, said Mrs. Garrison was in the Miami area to attend a board meeting of the Central Banks of Florida, of which she was a majority stockholder.Fries left his office for the hotel immediately to take care of arrangements.She was acquitted along with Melvin Lane Powers of the bludgeon murder of her millionaire second husband Jacques Mossier, in a murder trial in which Powers was defended by Percy Foreman.After being acquitted in the so-called “Candy and Mel case, Mrs. Mossier returned to Houston and in July, 1971, married 32-ycar-old electrical contractor Barnett Garrison.Mrs. Garrison returned to Miami frequently to attend to her financial interests.
