Pa., Oct. 27.— Etrljr Saturdaymorning two masked men entered the residence of Mrs. Amauda Doe bier, a wealthy widow, residing on the outskirts of Ijeb-anon, and demanded her money. She refused, when they set upon her with a knife, and brutally stabbed her In ten places on her head, besides cutting her on her body and arms. The woman resisted, and a terrible tight ensued, until Anally,•cared by her screams, the men dashed out of the window and escaped without getting her cash.I.onkm! Like a Slaughter Pen.The struggle with her assailants took place in Mrs. Doebler’s sleeping room,and this had the anpearauce of a regular •laughter-pen. The walls were covered with hiood, t he carpet torn up, and the bed and floor red with blood. The woman is now in a critical condition, and not expected to live many hours. The assailants have not yet been arrested.
