l' SPRINGFIELD, Oct. I.I Murder. We have the disagreeable Itask of recording another murder in this county which took place at AVesifield, on Saturday evening last, about seven o’clock. Robert Bush had so much abused his w ife, that she was compelled to n parr from him about two years ago, and i e we understand they have not since lived ‘ together. Bush had so often and so*pub-s HcTv threatened to kill her, that his s threats were little heeded by any one.— i- On the evening ofthe murder, he boughtII a large charge of hucksliot, and an ounce y of opium, at the same time declaiing his it I intention to kill his wife with the shot.—lie was seen proceeding' towards the house where Iiis wife was, with a gun in his hand, and to the inquiry what he meant to do with his gun, answered that he intended to kill his wife. One j approaching the house, a little girl (who with Mrs. Bush were the only persons in the house at the time) warned the woman to escape, as her husband was coming with a gun. In attempting Iter i escape she had got to the top ofthe cel-t lar stairs, with one hand upon herstom-t aeh and the other hold of the door, when the whole charge ofthe gun went thro’ her hand into the upper part of the abdomen, and she fell backwards down thestairs. She lived about—four hours._Bush took his opium, but being immediately arrested, the means taken to ielieve him from the fatal effects of the opium were successful. He confessed ihm he had premeditated the act for more than six months. He was committed to jailin this town on Sunday, to await his tri-al.
