Bentoo Jones, who was sent to the Prison South seventeen years ago to serve a life sentence for the murder of Thomas Moody near Mitchell, was pardoned by Governor Matthews, Saturday last. He, his brother, Lee Jones, and Eli Lowery all received life sentences and ail have since been pardoned. Benton Jonee always claimed that hlB brother, Lee Jones, was innocent and steadfastly re/used to accept a pardon, which occurred the 20ih of July last. Gov. Matthews says that such a devotion has never before been shown in prison history to his knowledge, and that he is confident that he he will make a worthy citizen.
