Sheriff Thornton on Friday evening a r. lt;rested a man named Kosengrten on an , attachment from the Crawford county lt;circuit court to compel hie attendance aa ’ a witness in the case of the state against Charles Spencer for the murder of Jacob Holmes, alias Jacob Miller, now on trial at Leav*. enworth, and left with the witness for Leavenworth this morning. Roeengar-ten claimB to know but little about the murder, and objected to going to Leavenworth to testify on account of the expense he would be put to.
