Queeney, who *_4 gave his occupation to Fillmore police as “news reporter” and his telephone as that of Chicago’s American, should have stuck around for 10 minutes and gotten a more dramatic j story after he was robbed of $18 at Pulaski and Madison at 1a.m. Oct. 15.m At 1:10 a.m., at the same o- place, a gunman answering the li- same description tried to hold up a visitor from Canada, v: Wilfred G. Hailey, who was staying at 1501 N. Pulaski, g All he got from Hailey was a 5 cussing out.12 Queeney, who is 26, said he was standing on the corner10 when a man walked up to15 him and said:__ “Give me your money or I’ll 5 put the heater on you!”16 Queeney said he obediently ^ took $18 from his wallet andgave it to the robber, but the man snatched the wallet from him, checked it for more, searched his pockets, then fled south on Pulaski.y ' yTen minutes later, a man answering the same physical description and showing a revolver walked up to Hailey with the command:“Give me all your money!” The police report delicately states that Hailey “refused with much profanity”, walked away and hailed a police car driven by Patrolman C. Rlakemore. They searched the area, but did not ^ee the gunman.
