Kelly last night after receiving results of an autopsy on Leo Waller Shroyer, 61, Ellerslie, whose rope-bound body was discovered Friday about 11 p.m. in the garage ofhis home.Mr. Kelly declined at ■ that time, however, to release details of the autopsy or reveal how the man died. Mr. Shroyer had been dead “only a matter of hours” Mr. Kelly added. “The autopsy indicates he was murdered — it was definitely murder,” he continued.Maryland Stale Police received an anonymous call about 6 p.m. Friday concerning a body in the house at EHerslie and Pfc. J. R. Lashbaugh was dispatched to the scene and found the victim tied up in the garage of the one-story brick structure. The garage is attached to the building. Police said scratches were found on the body.Mr. Kelly said Dr. Benedict Skitarelic, deputy medfcal examiner for Allegany County, decided to have the body sent to a Baltimore laboratory for an autopsy. The body was taken to Baltimore byCorriganville Fire Department’s ambulance driven by Randy Golden and accompanied by a state trooper.Mr. Kelly appealed tothe public last night toreport to State Police any information concerningthe man or his activities •Friday, the day of hisdeath.II has been reported that Mr. Shroyer was seen early Friday. It was also reported by sources he was known to carry large sums of cash on his person.Mr. Shroyer was a pipefitter at the Bolt and Gage Shops of the BORailroad.
