Davis was taken from her apartment at 402 W. 39th St Her body was found in Town Lake Sunday.Police said Davis, after shopping at a local food store with her fiance [nominate, returned to her apartment alone while her roommate ran another errandPolice suspect Davis, upon entering her apartment, found several intruders. Davis' boyfriend called police after returning to the apartment and finding a bag of groceries thrown on the floor,said police.The first murder suspect was arrested Saturday night after police spotted a man near the scene of the crime who had property in his open trunk that matched property taken from Davis’ apartment, police said Charles Rector. 27. who was also a resident of the halfway house, was first charged with burglary and kidnapping. Charges were later changed to capital murder after police found Davis’ body.An autopsy confirmed Davis had been shot but concluded she had actually died of drowning The three suspects are all paroled felons who had been residing in the halfway house, said police.
