TIPTON, Ind. (AP)—Authori ties looked to several finger and palm prints today for leads in the mysterious death of a Tipton 4-H Club leader. Sheriff Verl Grimme said the prints were found on the 1957 red car Olene Emberton, 17, was driving just before her death. The nude body of the pretty senior at Tipton High School was found Monday along a desolate road near Hobbs. Her clothing was stacked neatly near her head, but her purse was missing. Grimme said the bag contained only a few facial tissues, car keys and some change. Investigators, who have pledged to work round-the-clock, awaited a report on the exact cause of death. The preliminary autopsy failed to show the cause and the body bore no signs of violence, authorities reported. Classmates of Miss Emberton attended her funeral services Wednesday and one commented afterward, ‘‘She was well-liked, not a social climber like some. She didn’t run around with any particular bunch, but she could associated with anyone.’ Grimme, State Police Sgt. Robert Zell and Prosecutor Richard Regneit said they be lieved the girl was lured from her car in downtown Tipton by an acquaintance she trusted. They said the car showed no sign of a struggle. The car was found four blocks from the Emberton home Sun day morning, and the body was discovered 5 miles from the auto. Olene attended a movie Satur day night with a boyfriend, let him off at his home about 11:30 p.m. “and that’s the last we know of anyone seeing her,” Grimme said. The sheriff said he called in authorities from several other counties after learning the vic tim had acquaintances in sever al surrounding cities and coun ties.
