• • •A letter to the Gazette from W. A. Moore of Spencer presents aninteresting snake incident recently experienced by Lawrence Bat-J ties and Andy Higgins, both of| Spencer. The two men were busy cutting wood on the Moore placeto the accompaniment of a radiothey had brought with them. Glnoing, by chance, at the radioperched in the grass the men founda five and one half-foot blacksnake coiled twice about it. Sensing an insecure future, the reptile uncoiled itself and headed for ahollow tree- however, Battles grabbed an ax and killed it. Moore ven-lured the opinion in his letter thattin* heat generated by the radioattracted the snake.-
