COLLINSBEL AIR, Md.—A Harford County Circuit Court judge Monday ordered a defense attorney to halt the use.of the name “Little Willie” while referring to Baltimore businessman William Adams...The order came during cross examination of Baltimore’s Fourth District Sen. Verda F. Welcome when Russell J. White attorney, re- . pcatedly asked sharp questions about “Little Willie.”Sustaining an objection by Charles E. Moylan Jr., Baltimore state’s attorney, Judge Harry Dyer Jr. ordered Mr. White to refer to Mr. Adams, *a potential defense witness#.....as “Mr. Adams.”• • • .%THIS WAS one Of the .highlights of the first day of the trial of Ernest D. Young, also Fourth- District _ legislator*-who is accused of plotting the murder of Mrs. Welcome. They grew out of March 26 and April 10 attempts to killher.•He, along with four 6thtr~ co-defendants, is accused of attempting to murder Mrs. Welcome, burglarizing her home f^r the purpose of committing a felony, to wit, murder, assault and other related offenses.Three of the four have been convicted in Baltimore Criminal Court and are a-waiting sentence.They are Charles Hall, Harold Williams, and James McCall, all of whom listed city jail as their address.Curtis King, the fourth co-defendant alleged trigger-man, is under going psy;-chiatric examination afterentering an insanity plea, plea.The trial was moved to Harford County when Mr. Young entered a change ofvenue motion, contending he__could not get a fair and impartial trial in Baltimore.Mention of the “Pollack. Faction” in Fourth District politics and the rejection of all potential colored jurors by defense attorneys for Mr. Young were other points of interest in the first day of the trial which is expected to last virtually all week.Mr. Moylan was unable to pursue the “Pollack Faction” reference when Judge Dyer ' sustained an objection by Mr. White.• • • __BALTIMORE’S CHIEFprosecutor raised the subject in his opening statement to the all-white jury of three women, 11 men, including two alternates, in which he described the case as one of “cold blooded political assassination on personal vendetta.In_his opening remarks totfnrjury MrrWhlterwho chal=--leriged three colored women * jurors acceptable to state, injected the color question.. “Mr. Young is a member of a different faction, in the Fourth District.“His is a faction which has a mostly white people.
