He says he was never looked np, but kept in the custody of the Sheriff. This morning he was admitted to bond iu the sum of $500, hiB nncle, Charles Thornburg, a wealthy land owner of Henry county, becoming surety for his appearance.Immediately after beiDg sot at liberty he says he went to see Miss Butler, and found her m a much better condition than reported. Mr. Butler was not at home and at first Mrs. Butler refused to allow him to see her daughter, but the girl heard and recognized his voice and insisted on his being allowed to see her.Earl insist* that the girl has taken no drugs, and that she is very much out of humor with her father for proceeding with the prosecution. He also says he was there last Sunday and Monday and was willing to marry the girl on Tuesday, as had been talked of, provided it was demon strafed that she waB really in the condition claimed. That her father was away on Monday, and when he returned and found him (Earl) gone, he proceeded to New Casile at once and filed this suit.From other sources it is reported that the girl aborted, last night, and is still m a critical condition.Prosecuting Attorney Beach, of Henry county, iB in the city, to-day, but is reticent about giving any information concerning the case.
