WILTON HUNTSMAN IS SERIOUSLY WOUNDEDft •(Journal’s Special Service.) *Wilton, Iowa, October 19.—Frank Duffe, residing half a mile from Wilton was shot and seriously wounded while hunting yesterday afternoon. Duffe in company with a p arty of other Wilton men were hunting near the Duffe home.Just as Duffe came up over a small rise, two of his companions said to have been A. *R. Whitmer and Fred Miller, shot at a squirrel in a tree in the direction from which Duffe was coming. One of these two bullets struck the tree and glanced off, striking Duffe in the arm, penetrating that member and lt;entering his! •breast where it lodged in the lung. |Whitmer and Miller hurried toj town and summoned Dr. W. A. Cooling and Dr. A. !R. Leith who were rushed to the Duffe home to give medical aid.Today it was- declared that Duffe had only a Qgh ting chance to recover.
