OFFICER ANSBRO WAS LENIENT,And 1»1* Prisoner, Edward McCue, wasAllowed to Cio Back to Bridgeport*On October 8 Edward McGue, a young man in the employ of B. D. Fierce Jr., a drain pipe manufacturer of Bridgeport, Conn., paid a visit to this city and was overcome by the demon, rum. lie fell foul of Officer Michael J. Anabro, of the Adams street police and was arrested. He did not like the idea of being arrested and rosisted as well as he could. IIow ho conducted himself appoars from tho following complaint, sworn to by Officer Ansbro:u M. J. Ansbro, of the First Precinct, being duly sworn, deposes and says that on the 8th day of October, one Edward McCuo willfully and unlawfully committed an assault upon deponent, by striking him several violent blows upon the breast with his fist and knocking him down without any justification.When Mr. Pierce heard of McCue’s arrest hewrote to Judge Walsh asking his Honor to impose aa light a penalty as possible on the prisoner. IIo had worked for him four years and had always been Bober and industrious. Tho case was called this morning^ but *or some unexplained reason OfficerAnsbro did not appear against McCue, aud tho prisoner was accordingly discharged.
