Parolee SentTo ReformatoryBack to Green Bay reformatory goes a young Kenosha parolee sentenced Friday in Municipal Court for burglary.He is Kenneth Schoen, 18, 7540 33rd Ave., who pleaded guilty before Municipal Judge Harry V. Carlson.Schoen received a three-yearreformatory term—actually two concurrent three-year terms, llis latest sentence also runs concurrently with 14 months of his original sentence which he must serve out.Schoen's companion, Clifford Oberg, 18, Rt. 1. Box 558, pleaded innocent before Judge Carlson. The judge appointed an attorney to represent Oberg at the latter’s request. Earlier, Oberg, like Schoen, had waived a preliminary hearing in County Court.Both men were accused of two burglaries — one at the Woodworth school in this county, the second at a D-X service station in Union Grove,About $113 was taken from the school, located in the town of Bristol. In Union Grove, crankcase oil, a flashlight, candy and cigarets were stolen. Racine county authorities agreed to have their case prosecuted here in conjunction with the Kenosha county case.Earlier, Schoen and Oberg had been cleared of a number of other recent burglaries in a lie detector interrogation. Schoen, who confessed some of those burglaries, later admittedhe had made up the story.In December, 1956, Schoen had been given three years inGreen Bay reformatory for his part in burglaries at five county business places. Oberg was placed on probation for three years for his role in the same offenses. But he later was caught after breaking into the I.akeway Packing Co., Trues-dell, and was given an 11-yearreformatory term Oct. 8. 1957. Both men later were paroledfrom the reformatory.City and county officers, following up a tip from two Bristol men, teamed up to make the latest arrests.HospitalizedAfter Beating★★A 28-year-old Kenosha mantoday was recovering in Kenosha Hospital after a beating with a piece of pipe.The victim is Charles D. Horton. 1361 54th St. His condition late this morning was termed“fairly good.’’Horton told county officers he was hit over the head as he stepped out of an Illinois tavern. He did not know his assailant.Investigator Floyd Hughes, who interviewed Horton at the hospital, said the beating victim still can't think of any reason for the assault.Horton first related the incident to Deputies Harry Mason and Don Kreth yesterday afternoon. He said he had stopped at a tavern for some cigarets and was struck as he emerged. He recalled being hit several times.Horton could not give a description of the man wielding the pipe except that he apparently was a Latin American.
