of 8 GivenSail for SpeSANTA ANA—A divorced mother of eight children was jailed here Thursday because she couldn't pay a $50 traffic fine.Municipal Judge Ronald Cameron ordered Mrs. Lilian June Maranville, 35, of 12126 E. Union St., Norwalk, to Orange County Jail for five days in lieu of the fine.Her children are being cared for at their hoftte by the woman's mother, Mrs. Emma Higgins. They are Sharon. 17; Patricia, 16; Kathy, 14; John, 12; Susie, 9; Carol, 5; Lilly, 3, and Warren, 1.Mrs, Maranville was cited at 3 a.m. June 17 for driving 50 miles an hour in a 35 m.p.h. zone on 17th St. in Santa Ana.Thursday, she pleaded guilty and threw herself on the mercy of the court, explaining that she was unable to pay the$50 all at once.Judge Cameron returned his decision almost immediately, and the woman was lodged in the overlt;¥fowded County Jail.
