Car on’ Pennsylvania Crossing Here.re;t'oiTtei\viiniPtevanin'th'er;PEforts of the Delphos police in assisting1 Lima officers brought about the arrest here early Sunday 'morning of Gurney Eviek a former Delphos young man now residing at Lima, after ;a machine which he is alleged to have stolen at Lima was wrecked on; the Main street crossing over the Pennsylvania railroad here.Evick is said to have stolen a Chrysler sedan at Lima Saturday night. Later, at about 9:30, he is said 'to have Held' up a drug store in that tity and made his escape in the stolen car. He is said to have been recognized in Lima.The car was driven to Delphos and was abandoned, on the Pennsylvania tracks at the Main street crossing where it was struck by a westbound fast freight. It was demolished and ,wae carried along with the train-, por_ .tions being scattered from1 Main street to a point west of the Jennings creek.(All of- the crossings over the Pennsylvania- at streets west -of Main in 'this city were torn up;The dHver of th© car had disappeared before the car was struck. 'This crash occurred at about 2:10 a. m.Lima officers Goodwin and Dixon came to Delphos and enlisteded the aid of the local police. Chif- of Police Glenn Ditto and Patrolman J. S. Link took them to a Hammons home on Clime street where the Delphos officers thought he- might have 'gone. They found him there and he was placed under arrest. About half of the $47 taken in the drug store' robbery is said to have been' found on 'his person here.iHe was taken back to Lima for a 'hearing. selEvick was recently paroled from the Ohio- penitentiary at Columbus.
