A W 0 L SOLDIER, 23, ALLEGED SLAYER OF ZUE CROOK CAUGHTHarrison, Ark., Oct 8—Four Marion county residents said today they had seen Kenneth.D. Speegle, 23-year-old AWOL soldier near the mountain cabin where a state policeman and a retired railroad man were killed. Police said the four positively identified Speegle as the man they had seen near the cabin of Zue E. Crook, former Camden and Logans-port, Ind., man. Crook’s body was found nearby in a shallow grave afterstate patrolman S. V. Pavatt was killed Sept 25, by a shot fired from the cabin. Two other witnesses failed to identify the suspect A seventh picked another man. Speegle, captured in Oklahoma Tuesday, was brought to state police district headquarters here today to be viewed by the witnesses. Prosecutor R. E. Rush, Harrison, and state police Capt J. Earl Scroggin said Speegle claims his membory is blank from the time he left Fort Lewis, Wash., until shortly before his capture. Speegle cries when his war decorations are mentioned but otherwise has shown no. emotion during his questioning. Today, however, he laughed when one of the witnesses, a woman, picked out another man. He is under two first-degree murder charges and is to be committed to the state hospital for a mental examination after the state police complete their questioning.Ci
