Wilson testified he hadlived in Daviess county all of his life;had known Perkins all of his life.Was in this city in June, 1913, andwas at Perkins’ barn when Gable and Ririe were here. Perkins told him to get in box stall and George R. Al-; len and J. W. Wilson went in with him. They overheard Perkins talking to Gable. They were sitting on a bale of straw. Gable said to Perkins, that he would give him $1,000 to beat the Van Allen case and convict Wolfe. Perkins said he didn't know anything and Gable told him they would tell him what to say. Perkins said he would not swear to any ‘/damn lie. Witness said he had► \ *at $500 or $600 was burned in th barn.Thursday Afternoon. .Albert M. Perkins continued hi testimony this afternoon and testi fled that he had bought a number o horses and jacks. Said tliey werlt; worth from $800 to $1*500 each Said he purchased King Bowbell’and Cushon from Fisher Walk er. First met Mr. Walker in 1911He came here to look at a colt Per kins had for sale. Said-Walker purchased Pantom, jack “Jumbo,” Cushon and King Bowbell were shipped from Evansville to Washington. Bought /‘Jumbo in January, 1912. Paid $1,850 for him.Saw King Bowbell January 29, 1912 in Fisher Walker’s barn. Horse was in good condition andweighed about 1,050 to 1,100pounds. Was a good bay horse, was registered and was about fourteen years old. Horse was worth $1,000 and he paid that amount to Fisher Walker for him. “Cushon*' was iseen Richelieu at the Perkins’barn and said there was nothing wrong with horse. Said horse was worth $1,500 to $1,S00 in liis judgment.On cross examination witness said he had signed no applications for insurance. The state then handed him two insurance applications and asked him if he had not signed his name! to them. The witness identified his signature on one of them and said lie' had not signed the Other, that someone else had written liis name on it.good horse with no defects and paic $1/850 for him. Said horse was worth that much. Fisher Walkei said that they were guaranteed to b( 60 per cent breeders. Said he paic for horses and jacks with cash anc notes.' Said he got money on checks and had records of some of the checks. Shipped King Bowbell tc Terre Haute to Mr. Lindsey. Witness said he stood Pantom and he proved to be no good as a breeder. Said Gable guaranteed horse as a breeder and that he correspondedwith Gable about the guaranteeJ. W. Wilson.J. W. Wilson testified he has lived ip. Daviess county for forty-six years. Was at Parkins barn in June, 1913.when Gable and Ririe were there.*While driving into the city he passed lacob Tutewiler and Ririe in buggy )n the State road. He said he went nto the box stall in the rear of the 3arn and overheard the conversation f Perkins and Gable.M. jti. Wilson Recalled.M. H. Wilson was recalled by the date and asked to identify his sig-iature on an application for. insurance on a jack. He did not identify he signature.W. C. Camp.Witness identified letters he had re eeived from Mr. Gable. Said he wen1 to Flanigan, 111., with Dr. Wolfe tc see Gable about Pantom. Founc Mr. Gable out in the country anc Perkins told Gable he had sold him a horse that wasn't worth a dollai and he had not got a service out oi him. Told Gable he wanted his money back as the horse was guaranteed. Gable finally consented tc give him Burbon Chief for Pantom. Next saw Gable in November,1912, in Flanigan. Took Dr. Wolfe* »to Flanigan on the first trip because the bill of sale was made out by Fisher' Walker and he was to represent this firm; also, because he was a veterinary. Wolfe also went on the second trip because he wanted to buy a horse.I IK
