Bloodlninds from Knoxville are responsible for the arrest of Ed Egbert, aged 2(5, son of Daniel Egbert, residing near Melrose, Egbert is charged with raping Gertie Killion, the lil-year-old daughter of Edward Killion. a framer residing near the same place. The crime is said to have been committed Saturday nigtli. No sooner had Egbert been placed in jail than an angry mob gathered in the streets. It was feared for a time mob violence would be attempted. However, later in the day. those who were attracted to the streets showed a different spirit and dispersed.
