Behind Payne's arrest Is said to be n story of the wrecking of Trout wejn’s liome, it being alleged that Payne was the man who caused the trouble.The arrest of Payne was made by F. W. Snyder, a former L. 3. it. S. detective, Snyder resigned several months ago and went to work at Venice- Now it develops Ihnt he was employed to find the co-respondent in the divorce case instituted by William Troutwein against Hattie Troutwein, The case was recently dismissed but it would appear that Snyder continued his detective work and this resulted in further disclosures. It ir, said that Payne was found at the Trout wo in home Monday night by TM motive Snyder.The hearing was held before Justice George F. PM. Payne pleaded guilty ol the assault charge and was fined 510 and costs which he could not pay. In default ho was sent to jail under ?500 bond. Mrs Troutwein wanted to go Payne's bond, but the justice worald not allow lita^to do so. She created quite a scene, so It is said, by denouncing her husband in the presence of the assembled crowd.William Troutwein was at one time a prosperous farmer-but at present is a laborer at the cement mill. In count Monday night be told of the brutalassault* and charged Payne with breaking up liis home.
