The man he-| lieved that he liad found one of thejj teeth of the famous Piasa bird which S according to the legend of the old 117.1- § nois Indians roamed the country c:i| I wing, devouring buffalos and Indians || galore. . fCharles Cundal of Hillsboro has S3-* cured the tooth and has been exhibit-j? ing it in that town. The tooth has't nine points and is nineteen inches in* circumference. There is a hole an inch and a hah! in diameter running 4 from the base of the tooth, where the nerve xiassed. -The tooth was taken to Professor Conley, who declared that it was the front upper too;h of a mastodon. The tooth is composed of solid ivory. .
