On Wednesday, it islearned, they placed in the mail atthe post office of Winding Gulf anumber of deeo\ letters containing• * ^money, and rode to Mullens on thesame train that conveyed the letters. Waiting at Mullens untilthe mail had been distributed, theyentered the office, and after a brief search found the decoy letters in a safe, and the money which they had contained in the pockets of the assistant postmaster, Mr, Senter. Idie inspectors were enabled to identify the money they found in the person of the assistant bv means of certain marks they had made on the bills previous to enclosing them.In the case of Senter he had bc-theopening of letters and some of hiswork, it is said, would hear the closest inspection before it wouldbe noticed.I bus lured into tin* snare S uiterconfessed to the robbery.
