Credit Card Fraud Charged Man In BroctonBROCTON, - A 28-year-old Hollywood, Calif., man, allegedly making long distance phone calls and charging them to a fraudulent credit card, was arrested Monday night and charged with theft of services. In addition, after he was booked on thp first charge, police laid a second charge of criminal possession of mari-juanna, sixth degree.Brocton Police Chief. John Rowe said- this morning that his department, working on a complaint received late last week from the Chautauqua and Erie Telephone corporation of Westfield, arrested Gene E. Rhodes.Police said that Rhodes allegedly placed “numerous calls to both New York City and Hollywood, Calif.” giving a fictitious credit card number. Rhodes was arrested here late Monday night at the Welch company plant, where he is employed as a seasonal worker.Police Chief Rowe stated that while Rhodes was being booked, he found two mari-juanna cigarettes on his person. A second charge of narcotics possession was then placed against him.Rhodes has been committed to the Chautauqua county jail in MayviUe in lieu of $750 cash bail pending his appearance tonight in police court before Justice Anthony Cappellino.Chief Rowe was assisted in the investigation and arrest by Patrolman Ingram Seitz.
