Hold Man ForIThreatening Mate With AxeNILES, OC1. 13 — Niles stale troopers are holding a 45-year-old Hatcherville man they said attempted to kill his common-law' wife with an axe Monday.Johnny Clark, 655 Carberry rd , was lodged In the Cass county jail. He Is held for Investigation of assault with Intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder.Troopers said Clark threatenedto kill Georgia B. Glass at theirhome.Police said a neighbor, James Williams, came through the dooi and stopped him.Troopers satd Clark had been drinking. They said he fought them os he was placed in the patrol cor.According to police. Claik has a long criminal record including possession of marijuana, diunk driving, and breaking and entering.
