Last ^ week they held up the depot at Fort Gib- ‘ son and committed other depredations in that neighborhood, and Tuesday night they ' struck Chouteau on the Katie and Clare- f more on the Valley, about twenty miles ] apart, within a few hours ot one another. . At Claremore they robbed the station of . about $50, and robbed a deputy marshal, 1 who happened up, of his watch and gun. 1 At Chouteau they robbed the station agent 1 and operator, besides the safe and about a | dozen persons who were in the depot. I They took the mail sacks from Wo. 2 and No. 3 passenger trains and left. It is said |] that Cherokee Bill and a small man sup- i posed to be Bill Cook, took up the collections while one other member of the gang stood guard at the door. The M., K. T. road is expecting a hold up every night, and goes prepared for it. Thursday night the l new store at Gibson Station was held up and robbed. The robbery is charged to the same gang, as they were known to be in the neighborhood of Fort Gibson. We have I not learned the extent of the losses or the details of the last robbery.
