tIt1lt;CtThe continued t^ase of Adam Hammerley, proprietorof the London Theater, on Vine and Mercer streets, I» am-ed under two charges of giving disreputable theatrical performances on Sunday, occupied the attention of the Police Court during nearly the entire morning ses.-ion. The charges were brought py the Law and Order League, which was Jfepresented by tLeir j i attorney, Edward* Kitcbie, Esq. A number of witnesses were examined to prove that the reputation of the ph*ce was bad, a resort for depraved characters of both sexe-. and that selling liquor to boys end girle was among the offences against law and order.A number of minors gave testimony tnat they had been supplied w ith beer and whisky in ihe conoert-room, although'it was represented in evidence that the proprietor him self had frequently refused them. Jacob Yuugman. aged uiiietedn, testified (hat money had been given him by gentlemen connected with the League to “spot” the place, and liquor had been furnished trim, other witnesses testified to seeing boys and girls drinking in thegHllery, land women of bad reputation soliciting.
