CommerceCARSON CITY - Thisstate's newly authorized Nevada Department of Commerce Credit Union Division will become operational immediately following a public heanng Fnday in Las Vegas.The announcement was made by Vince Anselmo, deputy director of the CommerceDepartment and acting commissioner of the Credit Union Division.The public heanng. to begin at 11 a.m. Fnday. will be in the j governor’s conference room of the old state building. 215 E. j Bonanza Rod. Rules and regulations guiding the division , will be adopted at that time. |“Several federally-charteredcredit unions in Nevada have indicated they will make aplica-tion to convert to state charters shortly after the public heanng.“ said the deputy director. There currently are 63 federally-chartered credit unions in the state. jUnder state charter, each ! credit union will be given more authonty to act on behalf of individual members, working for every person s benefit,” said Anselmo.
