A a a climax to the Justice court hearing of Tom Tunstall, Mrs. Le-titia Smith and *Tudy' McBIes, on a charge of murder, Judge R.. C. Stan* ford, attorney for the defendants, yesterday directed suspicion at Mrs. Ruby O- Laub, star witness for the state.The charge by Judge Stanford against the witness came late yesterday afternoon, prior to the adjournment, of Justice McKee’s court. The hearing was not completed yesterday and will be resumed at 9:30o'clock this morning.T.ntth dnrfnirsMrs. Laub, during the mpmlng session, was subjected to a. rigid cross examination by Thomas Croaff, assisting Judge Stanford in the .defense.- For more than three hours he questioned'the woman.Mrs. Laub became angry several times , and appeared in a more vindictive mood than at any previous time during her long recital of events which she claims connect the defendants with the alleged murder of the missing oil man.Tom Houck, who with his stepson found the bones which were ex-hibted in court Thursday as the alleged remains of Knight, testified for the state yesterday, following Mrs. Laub. He told of the finding of the bones at a point about three and one-half miles from the Tunstall garage. He Identified the exhibit of bones as the same collection found at that time.Defense WitnessesWitnesses called by the defense included. Judge Mitten of Buckeye, Dr. Frank SUkin and Dr. W. W. Watkins. Judge Mitten told of the report of the coroner's jury, impaneled after the discovery of the bones. The jury, he said, failed to Identify the bones at that time as being those of Knight.The physicians testified on technical points concerning possible identification of the skull by reconstructing it and comparing the resulting profile with that of Knight. Dr. Watkins declared further ■ that the jaw bone of the skull in evidence fails to check up with the dental chart received from Knight’s dentists at his home in Texas.V. T, Bledsoe, called as a special witness for the defepse. declared that an investigation made of hotel records at Florence, tended to show that Knight did not arrive there until the night of July 8, 1921, and that he had come from Lordsburg, New Mexico. Mrs. Laub, declared that Knight was in Phoenix on that date and drove to Florence on the night in question with Lather Lee Tunstall from here.The hearing will probably be concluded with today** session, it was n i announced last night.A I ' O- -
