CHKHAMS TKACHEIl ARRESTER.iGeo. R. Thompson, a teacher in the local high school, was arrested ini Sumner last week on a charge ot* thirddegree assault. The trouble aroseover the lease of his mother-in-law’s berry farm to one Mrs. E. G. Hara-j guchi. According to report, Mrs.i Haraguchi took a lease last spring 011 j the farm and difficulties lately arose over the division of receipts from thej place. Although Mrs. Haraguchi'si lease does not expire until October, i she says the owner ordered her off. Thompson is alleged to have come to the house Tuesday morning while she was in the field and started moving Mrs. Haraguchi’s belongings from the house. The little girl gave an alarm and it is alleged fearing an altercation, Thompson slashed the tenantwith a butcher knife. Thompson denied the assault, but admitted that heexceeded his rights in trying to moveMrs. Haraguchi’s stuff. He was finedin Justice Linek's court atTacoma, According to other sources,we learn that Mrs. Haraguchi is the white wife of a Jap, and has been in frequent trouble with others.
