Mias Swanson’s Friends.* % Ben net, Neb., Oct. 2, 1880.Editor News:I see by the newspaper report of tlie trial of Robert Price an attempt was made to prove that Miss Hattie Swansonwas regarded as a girl of loose moralsin her former home near Bonnet. NowI wish to say on behalf of all good peoplein and near Bennett, and more especially in the immediate neighborhood of which the Swanson famtly were residents, that Miss Hattie was a member of the church in regular standing and that she conducted herself in a modest and becomingmanner, notwithstanding any story ortestimony to the contrary. When the case comes up for trial, let upright, respectable citizens be called to the witness stand and the question of Hattie’s morals at her former home can soon be settled. The writer insists on the facts being made known and }s willing to abide the consequences.Tkcth Teller.
