From Bermuda, The steamer Alpha:arrived this morning. We regret to learn from the intelligence re ceived that the fever still prevails to a consider able extent. At St. George's it appears to be fast declining, but at Hamilton and other places, the cases are numerous. The steamer Powerful, of the Blue Cross Line, grounded while going out of St.George’s on Wednesday week, causing her to Teak badly. A riot at St. George’ s, arising out of a fight between two colored men, created considerable uproar on Wednesday, week. A party of the Royal Engineers put it down, Cominal Journ.—His Worship the Mayor had his first sitting in this Court to-day,” accom panied by His Honor the Recorder and’ ‘Alderman Richardson. Several Causes were called, but the parties not being ready for trial, they were, allowed to stand over, , ‘Two boys’ notoed: Dano, and Mahar were arraigned, and pleaded, guilty,to robbing A. J.Ritchie’s garden at Freshwater. The latter case was, one of ‘particular. annoyance. The credit of ferriting,out those offenders is due to Constable Hutt and Keefe. To“such a’ piteti has garden robberies arrived that parties are deterred from growing fruit. A stop must be put to it. The boys were remanded, until to-morrow.
