An InW»r*iititig C**s.Gotleib Uarcbet, a resident of the Third district was before Justice Bail) this afternoon, charged with cruellj treating bit wife, Kosaoa Uarcbet. by tyingher feet and bands with a rope, and forcing her *otn a room and compelling her to remain there for a day and night Uarcbet charged that his wife was suffering from hallucination of mind, and was not responsible for her acts, and that he was compelled to tie her hands and feet to keep her from doing herself bodily barm. On the other hard the wife charged that Uarcbet wanted to put her out of the way in order to marry hts daughter In law with whom he bail attempted undue liberties. Barchet strongly bi d the charge and had several witnesses sutntnood, among them his nlces who were ytftlting him and his brother, Dr. Uarcbet, a missionary phvstcUn from China.
