*A Hiuband and Five Children Killed by theWlfe and Her Paramour.• I^ittlb Book, Ark., Oct. 3.—Greatexcitement prevails • at .Duvall'sBluff over the discovery of what is believed to be the bloodiest tragedy in the history of Prairie county. tBud Chaffin and his five children are believed to have been murdered and suspicion points to Mrs. Chaffin and John King,/her paramour, as the murderers. Chaffin, with his wife and five children, lived on White riyer between Des Arc and Dnvall’s Bluff. John King,a hired man, lived with the family, and is said to have alienated the Chaffin woman’s affections from her husband.Neither King, nor any of the Chaffins have been. seen since Sept. 21.On that date King was seen driving awy in a wagon in company withMrs. Chaffinp* As rthey did not return and nothing was seen of the other members of the family* the neighbors began an investigation. When the house in which the Chaffins had lived was opened, blood was found spattered all over the floor, and there jyere evidences of a terribly butchery, having-been committed, but no bodies;were found. The theory of the officers is that the bodies were thrown into the riyer. Every effort is being made to locate King and Mrs. Chaffin.
