STOLEN VEli ICLES.Many of Thom Found In Illinois—Ah4 Important Discovery.Fred Miller, the undertaker of Harrison aver.ue, has again come to the front in a sensation, which was brought about through the arrest of his brother, Thfeodore Miller. ! at Carthage, 111., on the charge of receiving stolen property.For some time past the residents in the vicinity of Westwood and Cheviot have , been reporting the disappearance of buggies j and wagoas. The matter was referred to i the Green Township Antihorse Thief Asso- I elation and Detective Rininger was placed ; on the case.After some difficulty the officer tracedseveral car loads of buggies, wagons, plows. |etc., to a farm near Carthage, 111., which. 'it is alleged, is in charge of Theodore MLler. jDetective Rininger, in company with Mar- ishal Carter, George Fischer and S. E. Her-, Iron, went immediately to Carthage and : identified several of the stolen vehicles. As a result of the visit, the arrest of Theodore 1 Miller, Charles French, Charles,Lincoln and ; Allen Miller was caused and the men are ; now said~to be in jail. . IWhen asked regarding the stolen goods ; be.ng found in their possession, Theodore j Miller s.ated that his brother, Fred Miller, ; of Cincinnati, had shipped the goods. On gaining this information Detective Rininger ordered the arrest of Fred Miller, Jack ; Eades and Bill Burke, all well known in lt;this city. What their connection with the ] case is is not known.Fred Miller was seen after the news of the , arrest of his brother reached this city, and ! he alleges that he purchased the vehicles from a man named Baum of Hamilton, o.,who died in Cumminsville last week. It is stated that the vehicles have been repainted and present an entirely different appearance from that when stolen. Notwithstanding this fact, the owners were able to identiiy them.The affair has caused somewhat of a sensation in polLe circ es, and it is thought that a notorious gang has teen captured. Detectives Toker and Jackson have been trying to locate several missing vehicles stolen by the gang, and thus far have turned up twenty odd, belorgiri'g to suburban residents.Chief of Detectives Hazen has written a numbtr of the owners of the missing rigs asking for a discription of theis vehicles.The Sheriff at Carthage will try to identify those taken from that section of the | country,«lf found on the farm. It is statec that several valuable horses were found on Theodore Miller’s fa*rm, besides the numerous buggies and wagons.
