In ftlexnorlam.A beautiful monument is about to be erected over the graves of the late Mrs. Celia G Ryder, wife of W. B. Ryder, Esq., assistant superintendent of theC., B, Q. R. E.f and her two infant children, in Aspen Grove cemetery. The monument has arrived and is certainly a unique piece of skilled workmanship. The design is that of a broken tree, ivy clinging to its shattered stump and lichen growing at the base. In the cleft of a broken bough, above the inscription, is a bird's nest with two birdlings, the mother on guard above the nest, watching her little ones. The inscription is cut in the wood of the tree where a strip of bark has been turned down for that purpose. Below the inscription lie the mother bird and ber nestlings, dead, hilled by the liebtning stroke that shattered their home. The monument is cut in Indiana stone, and will command the admiration of everyone for its truthful representation of nature.
