The warrants were for Daniel McEwen, alias Jack Burke.Under a $200 bond furnished by Attorney Edward Knight. McEwen. alias Burke, is to be tried in the mayor’s court at Crown Point, October 5, on two charges made against him by County Agent S. J.. Craig, secretary of the Lake County Fair Association. The first alleges P.urke conducted a •'blind pig and the second that he carried concealed weapons. The peace bond was obtained by Craig ‘who statedBurke threatened to get his hide.* *Craig and Burke clashed at the county fair Thursday over the blind pig business which the Qedar Lake resorter boasted, according to Craig, had been conducted at the fair for seven years. In the secretary’s office last evening Craig exhibited a jug containing a liquid unmistakably whiskey or some intoxicant closely related to it, which he said witnesses saw Burkd use in filling bottles at his stand on the fair grounds.
