' FOB SHOOTING%APPEARED IN THE COURT OF SQUIRE JAMES WEBB MONDAY EVENING WHERE HE WAS FOUND GUILTY IN TWO CASES.Riley Stewart, the Fairland resident, who shot at Thomas Tillison, another denizen of Saint’s Hest, Monday morning, using soup beans aa ammunition,. appeared in Squire Webb's court Monday evening and was found guilty of the charges of .assault and uattery and drawing a deadly weapon* which had been preferred against him by Tillison. Tillison and Alex McClain testified for the state. No witnesses were placed on the stand by the defense. Attorney Elmer Bassett represented Stewart. The fine on the assault and battery charge was ten dollars and ten cents. For drawing a deadly weapon. Stewart also drew nine dollars and ninety-five cents.Tillison, in one of his falls to escape the rattle of the beans against his spine, wrenched his left knee and *s limping as a result. Stewart, it is said, after firing the two charges after the rapidly disappearing form of TiHtson, stopped to put some more of the fruit in his gun. Tillison, however, was running at such speed that Stewart had no chance to shoot again whe he had finished reloading the gun.
