Man sentenced in beating deathBy John PerinA 24-year-old Neville man was gi ven a prison sentence of 7-25 years last week in Clermont County Common Pleas Court in connection with the death of a New Richmond woman last February.Thomas Swart was given the prison term on Monday of last week by Judge Ralph A. Hill. He had been found guilty in August of fatally beatingMary Phillips, 21, his girlfriend.Swart allegedly beat Miss Phillips in late January. The wounds said to have been suffered in the reported beating were listed as the cause of her death which came over two weeks later.Originally charged with murder in tfce incident. Swart was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter by a jury hearing thp case.
