For a lone* time this was one of the happiest families in all Philadelphia, but a few years ago Ross began to lead the life of a debauchee; he sought other company than his wife's, his business begun to# decrease, and he became a bankrupt.To a refined and delicate woman like his wife, this was a crushing blow, and she lied from the man, leaving the children in his care, and sought flie protection of her friends*. To inv* knowledge nu divorce ever^ I jtook place between the parties, and a short time after the llight of the1 ywife, another woman took her place in the family, and who still occu-The following is the theory of*. 7 kthose who knew the family, and who are aecpiamted with Ross personally :•Some months before the kidnapping Mr. Ross received letters from the first and only wife asking and% Odemanding the children. We think Mr. Ross knows now, and always did know, where the child is, but refrained from making it public for family reasons.
