A sensation at edwardsvilleA Well Known Citizen Turns HorseThief.The people ot Edwardsville, especially those who are members of the Horse Thief Detective Society, are jubilant over the capture ot a horse thief, which it is hoped will effectually break up a thoroughly organized gang which seems to infest that locality. The particulars are as follows: Monday night Dr.E. 11. Weir’s valuable bay horse was stolen. Dr. Weir being a member of the II. T. D. S., immediately notified the members ®f that society and they soon had offioers scouring the country in every din (lion, which resulted in the capture of the thief and recovery of the horse at Belleville, Tuesday evening. The thief was brought to Edwardsville on the 21st ami lodged m jail. The thief turns out tube Christian Leuckel.of Edwardsville, son of Charles Eeuckel, a well known citizen. It is now believed that the prisoner has been implicated in other cases of the kind and that his arrest will put a stop to the nefarious business.liwhiclPlt;clhiaiscat.Ire
