New Sex Crimes Face PoliceAs Attacks Still IUncheckedBy The Associated PressSolution, of a new set of sex crimes faced police in various parts of the country Saturday.In New York, police Questioned a husky youth in connection with an indecent attack on a 14-months-old girl in a Staten Island home.They held a youth identified as George Kane, 20, who was quoted by police as saying ‘T can’t explain why I did it ”Police charged Kane with indecent and criminal assault and held him without bail.The child, dazed and bleeding from internal injuries and body bruises, was found unclothed in bed by her parents Thanksgiving morning.In Pittsburgh, police had questioned at least four men in the slaying of an attractive 38-year-old brunette salesgirl. One man was held without charge.A neighbor reported she saw Miss Jean Brusco beaten and dragged away from her home nearby. Mrs. Ellert Flannagan called police who searched but found nothing.Later a milkman stumbled on ;Miss Brusco’s body 150 feet from her home Saturday morning. The girl, Millie M. Summs, fell through a neighbor’s doorway Friday night with her throat cut and unable to talk.She still cannot speak after being taken to a hospital early Saturday morning.Police theorized the girl was slashed while alone in her home.The new group of crimes followed a series committed against young girls in various parts of-the country.In the past two weeks, a seven-year-old girl, a six-year-old girl and a 17-months-old baby died following what police described as sex attacks. Detroit police said another seven-year-old girl was kidnaped and indecent liberties taken with her.1
