Lawson oT Delphi, who shot and killed a policeman al l)el-: phi on the night of Oct. 18, 1915, land who was tried in the circuit [court at Frankfort on a char: e of first degree murder, lias been finally discharged from the state reformatory al Jeffersonville.Lawson, in company with several young men, were loafing about Delphi waiting for a train back to their homes in Lafayette after having stolen a ride on a freight train. lo the town.When accosted by the town marshal and arrested for loitering, a fight ensued. In making bis escape from the policeman, the three men put up a light and Lawson fired several shots, all of which found their mark in the ofilcer’s body, lie died the following day.Lawson asked u change of venue from the Carroll county court and the case was sent to Frankfort for trial.
